The project was amazing and I learnt a great deal. It was a great mix of physical work and lectures as well as some down time and fun activities. From prepping food, feeding and checking up on the animals to cleaning, cutting branches and doing site maintenance, we did it all. We were fortunate enough to watch the Vet dehorn the Rhinos and every day we went on game drives. The accommodation was great at this project and the staff friendly and helpful and dinner each night was around a camp fire and the food was great. We were able to feed the baby rhinos and baby elephant as well as other small animals. We got involved with the anti-poaching organisation, Protrack and it was interesting to listen to what they experience on trying to protect the endangered animals. On excursions I did a microlight flight (amazing), bottle fed tea to Jessica the hippo plus many other sightseeing opportunities.

My Cape Town was unbelievable. Everyone is so kind and helpful and I felt part of a family. AVIVA helped plan my tours and activities and I did so much in the short time I was in Cape Town. The accommodation is top class - an amazing volunteer house.

I truly felt there was no way to improve the service I got from Aviva Volunteers. I will definitely be back to volunteer on the Penguin project next year.
