TEFL Course
Travel the world teaching English! English is the international 'lingua franca' of people in business, education, computers and tourism - which means huge opportunities to teach it worldwide. Combine TEFL with previous qualifications and teach in that field (E.g. medicine, law or commerce), or start with this certificate and specialise in Business English or Teaching Young Learners, or complete a Diploma or MA. The aim of this 4-week, 120-hour course is to give trainees the practical skills that are vital in foreign- or second language classrooms anywhere in the world - and a theoretical base from which to work. It is an intensive and demanding programme - but it enables you to teach almost anywhere - Spain, Italy, Peru, Thailand, Nepal, China, Brazil, Russia, Greece... There is a chance to put it all into practice, observing inlingua teachers, doing micro-teaching lessons and teaching on the Refugee Education Programme – an opportunity to teach much-needed skills to people from all over Africa. All written assignments are completed within the four weeks and certificates, if awarded, are given on the last day of the course. Founded in 1968, inlingua International, with its head office in Bern, Switzerland, has a network of some 300 language centres in 30 countries. With over half a million clients each year, inlingua is one of the leading organisations worldwide in the field of language training. inlingua Cape Town has the advantage of being located at the Waterfront - South Africa’s number one tourist attraction. The Waterfront includes a shopping complex that has many restaurants, shops and cinemas as well as banks and a post office. Boats to Robben Island leave from there, and there are sunset cruises on Table Bay. It is less than 10 minutes' drive to the Table Mountain cableway and some beaches - and 40 minutes' to some of the estates on the wine route. The centre of Cape Town is a three-minute drive away. Transport within the city is easy and cheap. The language centre is based in a beautiful, large house with a private garden. Students have the choice, in between or after classes, of relaxing in the garden or exploring the Waterfront. We are able to offer the ideal combination of quality teaching and a high degree of personal contact with every student. Our fourteen classrooms are well equipped and students have free access to e-mail and the Internet. At inlingua Cape Town, our motto is, "keeping you in touch with the world...".
