Scuba Diving Course
Become an internationally recognised diver and add an amazing experience to your stay in Cape Town! You can take the full-time 5-day PADI Open Water Diver Course as a standalone course or add it to your volunteering project. Dive Action has a professional all year round diver training school with a modern and well-equipped lecture facility. Their retail outlet sells all major brands of snorkel and scuba gear and plenty of useful gadgets and popular dive wear is stocked. Their well-reputed service centre attends to all sport and commercial diving equipment and similarly their cylinder filling station uses only superior quality equipment with only the best air, nitrox and trimix fills supplied with precision and efficiency. When you have enjoyed all this you can move with them into their other offices ‘below’. Please Note: If you are volunteering with the Home of Hope, Baphumelele or Penguin projects, you can even book a part-time course while you are here. Simply talk to your volunteer co-ordinator at AVIVA House and she will be happy to arrange everything for you. The part time course will be scheduled to fit in with your free time and may include some evening theory classes. Discover Scuba Diving sessions are also held at our swimming pool (at AVIVA House in Table View) on the first Monday of every month, except on Public Holidays – a great opportunity to see if Scuba Diving is for you before committing to the full course. The PADI Discover Scuba Diving session introduces you to scuba diving in a highly supervised and relaxed manner. It dispels common misconceptions about scuba by letting you try it out for yourself. Under the guidance of a PADI professional, you will learn basic safety concepts, put on equipment and swim around underwater in a closely supervised environment (our swimming pool). If you enjoy this session you can then choose to try a shore dive, and if your keen, the rest of the course too! |
