Does AVIVA accept school groups?
Yes! We have two projects that would be suitable for mixed age school groups listed below: Balule Conservation Project This project offers an exciting educational adventure program for younger volunteers which includes exposure to a wide variety of wildlife and visits to many wildlife centres in and around Kruger National Park. With nights around the camp fire and days packed with incredible sights and sounds, this is an experience that will benefit teachers and students alike. Minimum Duration: 11 nights Minimum Age: 12 years old on arrival Maximum Group Size: 8 Recommended Teacher to Student Ratio: 2 + 6 Tamboti Conservation Project Teachers and Students will experience practical hands-on conservation work while being introduced to Africa's Big 5 in a remote wilderness reserve in Limpopo region of South Africa. Minimum Duration: 14 nights Minimum Age: 15 years old on arrival Maximum Group Size: 12 Recommended Teacher to Student Ratio: 2 + 10 Please note: - With a group size of 8 or more, the first teacher goes free.
- These programs differ from the full volunteer project as the emphasis is on education and exposure to a wide range of conservation and wildlife related experiences in a shorter time scale.
- Programs can be adapted to suit your groups' particular needs or focus.
- Both projects can be combined with some time in Cape Town to include visits to Table Mountain, Cape Point, Boulders Beach Penguin Colony, Cultural Tours and much more.
